How Might We Provide People the Basic Necessities for Living During Emergency Situations and Rebuild a Community in Crisis?
Quart is designed to provide short-term relief of clean water, food, and shelter while cultivating long-term provisions of community healing and living space, agricultural opportunity, and water sanitization. One of the greatest problems in Haiti is the lack of clean water and proper living space within communities. The water system, Quart, that we developed will be able to provide around sixteen families with clean water for drinking, cooking, and washing near their homes. The central space within Quart can also be used as a small farming space for the community it serves. Quart not only serves people as a provider of basic human needs, but also as a focal community space that strives to provide a sustainable future through healing and nourishment of the mind and body after disasters.
